Found in 1897, Moorcroft Pottery quickly became a universally known, prestigious pottery company. In 1904, Moorcroft won the gold medal at the St. Louis International Exhibition and was appointed as the Queen’s official potter in 1928. As Moorcroft celebrated their centenary in 1997, a new studio was opened that allowed designed to be expanded even further for the new millennium. In the Moorcroft factory shop, you can see the original bottle kiln that William Moorcroft used to make some of his first pieces of pottery. There is also a museum where you can see exquisite pieces from the company’s history and the history of the company from its roots.
